Language Disorder and speech issues:
Talking about issues people face with speech:
Understand the principle of Opposite control:
The Principle of Opposite Directions. The right hemisphere controls the left side of the body.
The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body.
This means if a person has a stroke on Left bram, they may lose movement right side of the speech or sp body on the
Language Disorders
When a part of brain that controls Language is injured, a person develops a Language disorder known as Aphasia
Aphasia means the person has problems in understanding or producing language. They may not find the right words, from sentences or understand what others say.

1) Broca’s Aphasia:
When Broca’s area or (frontal lobe) is damaged.
A person with Broca’s aphasia understands language well but cannot speak fluently.
Their speech becomes broken, slow or lacking grammar like a child says ( want food instead of I want food.)
This shows that Broca’s area handles grammar, word order, and sentence structure.
2) Wernicke’s Aphasia:
The type of Aphasia happens when the Temporal lobe is damaged. A person with Wernicke aphasia can produce language but cannot understand when people speak fluently and use correct grammar. What they say makes no sense.
Speed has no clear meaning. They also can’t understand what others say properly.

Pure Word Deafness Aphasia:
The person can hear sounds but can’t recognize words. It’s like hearing a song’s tune but not understanding
The brain cannot connect sound with meaning because the connection between the hearing area and Wernicke’s area is damaged.
Conduction Aphasia:
In this type, the person can understand speech and speak but has trouble repeating words. If told to say bubble, they might say “bupple” They can understand what’s being said but can’t repeat it accurately because the connection between Broca’s and Wernicke’s (arcuate fasciculus) is damaged.
Anomic Aphasia:
This happens when a person can’t find the right words even though they understand everything.
“Pass me that…………….. thing over here. In this aphasia it happens frequently.

Apraxia Aphasia:
The problem is not understanding or speaking, but doing actions when asked.
The person understands the instruction but cannot carry it out. For example, if told to pick up a pen, they may not do it ever until they w know what a pen is.
Global Aphasia:
It occurs when there is severe damage to the left hemisphere of the brain , particularly the areas that control language and communication. Left hemisphere is dominant for language in most people so any critical injury can affect almost all aspects of language including speaking, understanding reading and writing.
Stroke, head trauma, and serious brain injury are the reasons.
- Physical: paralysis or weakness on right side mouth distorted, tongue losses flexibility.
- Verbal: Struggle with speech, cannot express themselves properly.
For example: A woman who suffered stroke after stroke, she could not speak, then she was only able to repeat meaningless syllables -ga dak la doh!

Reading & Writing (Aphasia in Rea (Dyslexia)
It affects how a person reads and watches
That causes difficulty in reading & writing. It’s hard to recognize letters, connect them with sounds of or put them in correct order.
Causes: Since childhood ( when development occurs) and
After brain injury (stroke/brain injury)
Reverse letter (recall backwards)
Types
Alexia:
Inability to read
Can see the word but can’t recognize and understand the words.
Agraphia:
Inability to write.
Understand words perfectly but can’t write them down correctly.
Pure Agraphia:
Cannot write even can move hand for task. It happens to those who have a stroke in the left hemisphere who may be able to read a sentence like” How are you “ but can’t write it.
Conclusion:
Sometimes people suffer while speaking and conveying their emotions and feelings to others but they don’t recognize them so today we talked about such issues most people face so it is important to talk about them and recognize them.
If anyone has an issue then they must consult a language therapist for improvement because you see it normal but it isn’t when there is something wrong then it affects our tongue and actions to express emotions and thoughts.
